KNOXVILLE, TN (April 27, 2012 – The struggles continue for the Knoxville Nighthawks.
The Nighthawks gave up 34 unanswered points to start Friday night's Professional Indoor Football League contest against the Louisiana Swashbucklers and never recovered in a 61-28 loss before 1,691 fans at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
Knoxville remains winless on the season while the Swashbucklers improved to 3-3.
Louisiana quarterback Freddie Harrison threw for 216 yards on 11 of 20 passing with three touchdowns and an interception, while Willie Copeland completed 28 of 49 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions.
Swashbucklers running back Kendrick Perry had four rushing touchdowns and Jason Messing led the Nighthawks with 12 receptions for 41 yards and a score.
Knoxville plays host to Alabama next Saturday night at the KCC. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
